Alliance Française de Napa and The Jarvis Conservatory are honored to present a Peter Susskind concert with world class cellist Jonah Kim and pianist Elizabeth Dorman. They will perform for us to celebrate Epiphany with La Galette des Rois. The concert will be followed by a reception serving JCB sparkling wine and The King’s Cake. A couple of our guests will be crowned King & Queen of the night and will receive beautiful prizes.

Galette des Rois,
The Galette des Rois celebrates the arrival of the Three Wise Men in Bethlehem. The galette is a cake composed of a puff pastry filled with frangipane. There is a small charm, the fève, hidden inside, for the tradition of crowning as King or Queen the one who finds the fève. This game of “find the king” was playedat the table of Louis XIV. The ladies of the court who found the fève became queens of France for a day and could ask the king to grant them a wish called “grâces et gentillesse.”
